Sending Birthday Wishes with Bugaboo Freebie Friday

Today I am featuring the Freebie Friday image available at Bugaboo Stamps.

This is a very simple card, so no explanation needed.  But I did want to share a little tip, I put together some card kits.  I picked out coordinating papers and either printed or stamped the images I wanted to go with the papers.  I placed the image and the papers in a ziplock bag.  Now I  have lots of images ready to color and the card stock already picked out for my colors.   I take these little kits along with me when I travel in my RV.  I can't carry my craft room but I can at least take something to keep me busy.  Since I can’t bring my craft room, I can at least spend time coloring.  So I carry my Prismacolor pencils and tools.  This last trip I colored about 20-30 images.  Now all I have to do is pull them out and follow a sketch challenge and pick out my sentiments and embellishments.

You Are My Person

It's Humor Me Wednesday at Catch the Bug, where we celebrate a special holiday.  This week I chose February 19, Best Friends Day,  which just so happens to coincide with my BFF's birthday.

I am featuring Brats Best Friends from Bugaboo Stamps.  My sentiment is from my favorite television show "Grey's Anatomy"  Meredith always told Christine, you're my person.

I used "Hello Wedding" font to create the word person, it is about 3 layers thick.  I applied Glossy Accents to it also.

Supplies:
Designer Paper Echo Park Summer Dreams

Chocolate Bar Sliders

It's time for anything but a card at Catch the Bug.  I made some candy bar slider wrappers for my Valentine's.  I am featuring Clyde Be Mine from Bugaboo Stamps.

There are several tutorials on the web, but here is the one I used, Chocolate Slider.  I uploaded Clyde into design space and made him a flattened image and a cutting image.  I welded the cutting image to my band and attached the PTC image with foam tape.  Of course you could just add him with out the welding.  I had the little shadow ovals I received from My Favorite Things, and they were perfect to cut out my little ovals for the ribbon.

This is a very easy project, especially for Valentines.  I think it would be perfect for adding chocolate bars to those Easter Baskets too.

Challenges:

Supplies:
Cricut Explore - Design Space
Sure Cuts A Lot - Ver 4
Designer Paper  - The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby)
Prismacolor Pencils
Scotch Foam Tape
Assorted ribbons

Sending Love on Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine’s Day, I hope you are having a great one.  It’s Wednesday, that means it’s time to celebrate a day of honor, here is the list I had to work from.  Today being Valentine’s Day, that’s what I chose to celebrate.

Today being Valentine’s Day, that’s what I chose to celebrate with the adorable image Clyde, Be Mine.

I created a similar card a few weeks back for the new release.  I had used a print background and found it a little busy, so I decided to stick to a plain white background.  I found this too plain so I added a little splattering of  Distress Inks in Candied Apple and Picked Rasperry to take away the nakedness of an all white card.  That did the trick.

LOVE was cut with my Cricut Explore using a system font, Impact. If you don’t have a Cricut Explore, you can purchase bold alphabet dies from various companies, but they are expensive.  Now with the new Explore Machines you aren’t limited to their cartridges.  Of course, you can always purchase a monthly subscription, but you can use system fonts, which are free or use external software and create your own files.   If you love paper crafting, then a cutting machine is a must.

On to my card,  I colored Clyde with colored pencils, and then added a few details with Nuvo Crystal Drops drops to his wings (Caribbean Ocean ), his horn and spikes (Pink Champagne) and his eyes (black).  I also added a layer of Ranger Inkssentials Glossy Accents to the heart to give it dimension.

I do purchase dies, but I try to keep these purchases to the stitched dies.  If they could get the Cricut or another cutting machine to create this detail, I would definitely buy one.

Here is a list of the other supplies I used:
Designer Paper - The Paper Studio “Love”
Simon Says All My Love Stamp Set
Card Stock - Paper Studios - HD White
Recollections Clear Embossing Powder

Be sure to pick up this week’s Freebie Friday here.  There is a new challenge every Saturday at Catch the Bug, a Bugaboo image isn't required, but you get a bigger prize if you use one.  Just stop by the challenge blog for all of this week's challenges, prizes and inspiration.

Cat Love

TGIF!  That means its time for another freebie.  Just in time for Valentine’s,  this adorable image from Bugaboo Stamps is perfect for you cat lovers.

I decided to do a very simple design to show off these little guys.  Instead of coloring them, I printed them with my laser printer and then added foil to them.  The picture doesn’t show it but they are nice and shiny.

I cut out the word love with my Cricut Explore, about 1” high, with the font “Impact”.  It’s a free font available at Dafont.com.

I stamped my sentiment on black card stock with Versamark and used white embossing powder.

I also cut out some hearts and added them for a little more interest and bling.

Supplies:
Deco Foil - Black
Heavy Duty Card Stock White - The Paper Studio (HL)

Say it with Love

Here is a quick and simple card for Valentine’s Day.

Using the font “Impact”, I sliced the word from my top layer, using my Cricut Explore in white card stock. Instead of an “o”, i added a heart.  The letters are 1.6” High.  I cut my square out a little large so I could use my stitched rectangle dies on it.

To add a little texture, I used my stitched heart dies and added a little embossing.  I saw this technique on Jennifer McGuire’s Blog - embossing with dies.

I attached the top layer with foam tape.  Then I stamped my sentiment in Versamark and added white embossing powder.

Of course, its Valentine’s so bling, bling, bling with sequins and glitter dots.

Be sure to check back to see how I used the letters I cut out on another card.

So that was it, here is a list of supplies I used.

Nuvo Crystal Drops - Pink Champagne

Till next time,

Happy Crafting!

Stella Says Sketch

It’s time for a new sketch at Catch the Bug.

This sketch is perfect  for showing off this cute little group of stamps Mini-Set Dog Blocks from Bugaboo Stamps.  There are several sets of block at Bugaboo Stamps, do a quick search on blocks and you will see them all.

I stamped my sentiment in Versamark and add white embossing powder.  The word wish was created using “Hello Wedding” font.  I cut two layers and then added clear embossing powder to the top.  I did two layers of that too.  I lost my little dot, so I used Nuvo Crystal Drops to dot my i.

It is taking all the control I have not to add any bling, so I can keep this card masculine.  Well, as masculine as it can be with pink in it.   LOL!
